This Extruder and Fan Shroud is for a CR-10 with MicroSwiss Direct Drive #M260.
The cooling ports face down where the cooling is actually needed, equally and not facing the nozzle itself. Many duct setups blow at the nozzle itself, which cools it, which is the opposite of what is ideal. Also, in many standard dual duct systems, the X axis is receiving more the airflow, which cools the part unequally.
Made to fit a 40mm (up to 20mm thick) hot end fan, and a single 50mm x 15mm blower fan. (Shown here is a Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX, which had always worked great and ran quietly).
Takes about 15 minutes to install if installing on an existing Micro-Swiss Direct Drive setup, which we highly recommend regardless if one chooses to use our shroud or not. Their true dual-gear extruder is the best that we have seen in holding flexible and softer filament precisely and properly retracting without deforming or flattening of the filament.
Uses the L-shaped bracket that comes with the BL-Touch sensor kit. That bracket shown fits the holes on the MSDD perfectly, with the only change needed is that the clearance hole in the center will need to be enlarged slightly as shown, to allow the newly tapped M6 hole to be visible. These two tapped holes are how this shroud and fans mount.
Position the heater block so that the heater cartridge and the thermistor face forward as shown.
The shroud is made solid and made from FormLabs High Temp Resin and is already UV and temperature cured. It is solid and translucent as shown (can be polished to be more clear).
The only change needed is to tap two M6 holes with a plug and bottoming tap into the blind holes as shown.
Click here to download the adapter shown to connect a Flexible Cable Chain to the extruder motor. This setup works well at allowing full range of motion in the X Axis for setups that have removed all of the previous Bowden extrusion setup.
Comes with all mounting hardware.
