Ces supports de moteur avant améliorés sont destinés à divers modèles Porsche.
Le support d'origine est sujet aux pannes et est connu pour échouer à moins de 30 000 miles. Il est creux et pas très solide. La photo d'un support ci-dessous a été prise sur un stock Boxster S et a été complètement déchirée en deux. Le mouvement était très perceptible de l'intérieur du véhicule.
Nos supports rendent le son du moteur plus doux et les changements de vitesse sont beaucoup plus nets que ceux d'origine. Avec le support en aluminium 6061 / polyuréthane Durameter 60A, il ne semble pas y avoir de vibration supplémentaire sur une voiture de série, mais la voiture se sentira beaucoup plus stable et rigide à l'arrière. En appuyant sur la pédale d'accélérateur, la voiture est beaucoup plus réactive, car le moteur ne perd pas autant de couple dans les supports.
Le support solide en Delrin est destiné à ceux qui ont besoin ou veulent encore moins de mouvement et qui ne craignent pas les vibrations supplémentaires (parfait pour une voiture de piste).
L'un ou l'autre support est installé comme le support d'origine. L'installation prend environ 90 minutes, avec des vérins au sol, un jeu de douilles et une presse pour retirer l'ancien support. Le support n'inclut pas le support de montage, uniquement le remplacement de l'insert.
Pour le montage sur rue, insérez d'abord le manchon en polyuréthane dans le support, puis insérez le centre en aluminium dans le manchon en polyuréthane. Les supports d'origine de Porsche ne survivront pas longtemps, en particulier avec une conduite « fougueuse », mais l'une ou l'autre de ces options de montage devrait durer toute la vie du véhicule.
Delrin (Acetal) motor mounts, transmission mounts, and bushings are each machined from a solid blocks, and have either Stainless Steel or Aluminum bushings fit into the mounts to act as a point of contact for the connecting bolts when required. Delrin is an extremely strong and stiff plastic. It is commonly used in place of metal in applications where metal can not be used (magnetic, corrosion, or conducting / insulating reasons). These are much stiffer than polyurethane mounts, and it will not give or wear out. Delrin mounts should never need to be replaced, unlike the stock units which are usually considered a wear item.
Delrin mounts minimize the jumping or twisting of the motor under the hood. This movement is caused by the rotating mass of the crankshaft and transmission components. With stock mounts, the engine will twist itself in the engine bay when the throttle is opened, or during high-speed shifts. Over time, this force will destroy the stock rubber mounts. When this happens, the rubber may split or rip, allowing the engine to potentially move inches back and forth. This can destroy CV joints, other mounts, and create wheel-hop.
With our mounts, shifts will be much crisper. While pressing the gas pedal, a vehicle is much more responsive; as the motor does not lose as much torque twisting into the mounts.
At a price usually less than that of inferior stock mounts, these are not only a great performance item, but a bargain for each application.
